Jordan Stapleton, Team Leader
Jordan Stapleton just wanted a job. At 18, he was looking for a place that offered decent pay, so he could get an apartment of his own. But within just a few months of starting as a customer service agent, his manager saw something special in him. Customers loved and trusted him. He had a positive energy that was contagious at the site. And he went out of his way to help others when they were stuck or feeling down. Now, Jordan, 20, leads a team of his own and is on a mission to make SYKES Morristown “the best place in town to work.”
What do you do?
My team supports customer care agents, so if there’s an issue going on they can’t resolve, it comes to my team.
What’s a typical day at SYKES like?
I start every day by checking my emails, checking urgent requests and putting out any fires. I always make it a point to spend some time getting to know the team in the morning, talking to people, making sure everyone is okay and letting them know I appreciate them. Even something as simple as giving an agent a high five can go a long way.
When did you know SYKES was right for you?
When I first started here, I just wanted to be a regular agent. I wasn’t all about being promoted. My manager kept telling me I was good at selling and that I could “do more,” but I was content where I was. About 6 months into my career, he was listening in on a customer call of mine for coaching. When I hung up, he pulled me off and had a serious conversation. He said, “Man, you have this in the bag. You can do this. What do you think about being a SME (subject matter expert)?” I told him I’d give it a shot.
What are your favorite hobbies?
Drag racing motorcycles, watching sports (I love the Florida Gators … sorry, Vols!), hanging out with friends and spending time with my family

What gets you excited to come to work?
I want to make this the best place in town to work. I’m a competitive person, and I want our team to be #1. Who knows, maybe someday SYKES can buy out the rest of the building, and I can retire here.
