Starting a new life together, Adam Bauer and his family were contemplating where to plant their roots. He from Massachusetts and she from Oklahoma – with 1,600+ miles in between. So, where did they decide to settle? Smack dab in the middle of their two families in Perry County, Kentucky. While life in Kentucky is quite different than the Northeast, Adam has found a home there. Now in his third year in a new state, Adam has seen firsthand the impact that SYKES and Intuit, the client served at the Hazard site, have had on the community through the Prosperity Hub – bringing jobs and opportunity to this area once known predominantly as a coal-mining town.
SYKES and Intuit have made an impact on Adam too. He began his SYKES journey as a tier 1 agent, and right off the bat, site leadership noticed his stellar performance. Adam was offered an opportunity to advance after just six months on the job. A shining example of how you can Work, Learn and Grow here, Adam is now a tier 2 agent. He appreciates that SYKES noticed the effort and care he put into his work and rewarded him for it – something he hadn’t experienced with previous employers.
I’m currently an interim tier 2 agent. I support several lines of business and answer questions, handle concession approvals and resolve complex problems the tier 1 agents are struggling with.
I work from 9 am to 5 pm taking customer calls. I enjoy answering questions that other agents have. If needed, I’d even be happy to clock-in outside of my regular shift.
There are significantly less people on-site, and everything has been a little hectic. However, everyone seems a little bit closer to their coworkers and their family.
SYKES Hazard was the pilot site for a program Intuit rolled out. I’ve watched it develop into a massively successful product that’s saved hundreds of thousands of jobs, and I’m proud to have supported it since day one.
I really enjoy hiking!
Telekinesis – I think it would be neat to move things with my mind.
I just finished up all available episodes of Wynona Earp.
Honestly, I never really settled on one thing. It changed day by day.
I’d love to be running my own department for SYKES or for our client, Intuit.
