SYKES Wins Gold in Developing and Promoting Women

SYKES Wins Gold in Developing and Promoting Women

SYKES has been recognized by the Stevie Awards for Achievement in Developing and Promoting Women. This recognition acknowledges the many programs and initiatives that SYKES has created to support women employees, including the SYKES Women in Technology program.

Now in its second year, SYKES Women in Technology (SWIT) works in conjunction with the company’s overall gender-equity goals to achieve parity in technical accounts by recruiting, developing, and retaining talented women. And, perhaps most important, SWIT empowers women to renounce the notion that tech jobs are only for men and encourages them to enroll in the SYKES Tech Academy.

Since its inception, SWIT has connected with more than 900 current SYKES employees and granted 300 scholarships. The number of women enrolled in the Tech Academy has nearly tripled from 70 in early 2016 to more than 200.

The SWIT program has been adopted in several SYKES regions and has even been recognized by the Costa Rican government for demonstrating a commitment to socially responsible business practices. In 2017, SYKES was honored by the Costa Rican-North American Chamber of Commerce with a “Social Responsibility in Action” award.

SYKES is proud to receive this recognition from the Stevie Awards for continued efforts in creating opportunities for women within the organization. As we celebrate the contributions women have made to SYKES, we will remain focused on supporting women in their roles and offering opportunities of empowerment and career growth.
