SYKES in the Community
We are proud to participate in and support numerous community initiatives around the world. From promoting local exercise programs to enabling the delivery of clinical health services around the world, we understand the importance of giving back.
Below is a sampling of a few of the community and public service programs in which we participate:
SYKES COMMUNITY INITIATIVES
ComprometeRSE is SYKES Latin America’s corporate social responsibility strategy. This strategy was inspired by the United Nations Global Compact and the ISO 26000. It is currently supported by more than 2000 volunteers in the region.
ComprometeRSE focuses on four areas: people, operations, community and social development.
The annual event held in Tampa, Our Heroes Luncheon honors our everyday heroes — the ones that help, protect, serve and rescue us each and every day.

SYKES Academy provides English training for job candidates who do not meet minimum English proficiency requirements. This intensive non-profit English program provides training courses to people who apply for a job at SYKES but need to improve their English skills (oral, written, grammar, listening) in order to become eligible for hire.
SYKES CARES is the philanthropy program of SYKES in the Philippines. Primarily established as an education advocacy arm, SYKES CARES has launched programs geared towards increasing access to education by providing educational facilities and equipment to underprivileged communities. SYKES CARES also promotes literacy and, to date, rolls out relevant and sustainable education-based projects on an annual basis.
The SYKES Employee Relief Fund assists employees who are experiencing serious financial hardship and are unable to afford housing, utilities and other basic living expenses because of a natural disaster; life-threatening illness or injury; death; or other catastrophic circumstance beyond an employee’s control. The Fund has assisted SYKES employees dealing with domestic violence, illness, house fire, flooding, homelessness, the premature birth of a child and other extreme situations.
PARTNERING IN OUR COMMUNITIES
SYKES has partnered with the American Heart Association to fight America’s No. 1 and No. 3 killers — heart disease and stroke. By committing to live healthier lives and raising funds to support the American Heart Association, we are walking our way to a healthier tomorrow.

SYKES supports the Crisis Center and it’s mission to ensure that no one in our community has to face crisis alone. The Crisis Center provides assistance and referral in times of emotional, financial and community crisis. https://www.crisiscenter.com
SYKES is proud to support Feeding America – the nation’s largest charitable hunger-relief organization. A network of more than 200 member food banks, this food-rescue organization serves all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

More women die from domestic violence each year than died in the 9/11 attacks. In the U.S., one in four women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime. For men, that statistic is one in seven. In an effort to raise awareness of the tragic and devastating affects of domestic violence, SYKES recognizes each October as U.S. Domestic Violence Awareness Month by developing and delivering manager programs and awareness information to all employees.
SYKES supports Junior Achievement and its mission to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.
SYKES supports Metropolitan Ministries and it’s mission to care for the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless in our community through services that alleviate suffering, promote dignity and instill self-sufficiency. http://www.metromin.org/
