To mark its 20th year in the Philippines, the country’s pioneer call center, Sykes Asia, Inc., celebrated with the people who contributed most to its success—the employees.
The week-long activity brought the anniversary celebration to all the SYKES sites in Manila and Cebu. SYKESers were treated to commemorative Krispy Kreme donuts and exclusive anniversary merchandise—gadget pouches in Manila and t-shirts in Cebu.
Another highlight of the celebration were the promos. In Cebu, employees were asked to wear their free t-shirts during the event. Everyone wearing the shirt is automatically included in the raffle. In Manila, the employees were surprised to find gift cards inside some of the gadget pouches. The lucky employees got to take home SYKES-branded merchandise, an LED TV, dash cams, Bluetooth speakers and Samsung VR Gears.
Since no event is complete without lots of picture-taking, SYKES made sure that the event provided plenty of opportunities for SYKESers to do just that. Aside from the photo booth with customized SYKES props, the photo wall and the cake table proved to be popular areas for selfies and groufies.
SYKESers also had the chance to snag the latest SYKES-branded merchandise at the SYKEShionista booth.
Cecile Moreno-Venancio, SYKES’ Director for Branding and Communications, the department behind the event, explains the importance of the celebration, “This is our way of thanking all our employees for their contributions to the success of the company. To be the first multinational call center to celebrate 20 years here in the Philippines is a big achievement and we couldn’t have done it without the support of our people. They are the core of our business. That’s why our brand promise revolves around how they can be successful with the company. When we say “SYKES is the best place for you to work, learn, and grow’ we mean every word of it.”
SYKES is truly no stranger to growth. From only 14 employees in 1997, it now employs more than 15,000 proud SYKESers. And if the first 20 years is any indication, we can expect SYKES to just keep on growing for the next 20 years and beyond.
